§ 17-1. Residences and commercial establishments to display street number.

(a)

All residences and commercial establishments located within the City of Gautier are hereby required to have prominently displayed thereon the appropriate street number.

(b)

The street numbers shall be not less than four (4) inches in height and of a color contrasting with the color of the background upon which the numbers are displayed.

(c)

The street numbers shall be displayed in a manner that they are readily visible from the street.

(d)

Should a violation of this section be discovered, the city manager shall cause a notice of such violation to be sent to the owner or occupant of the property by certified mail, return receipt requested, said notice giving the owner or occupant fifteen (15) days to correct the violation. The continued violation of this section, after notice, shall be punishable as a misdemeanor in the Municipal Court of the City of Gautier by a fine of not less than thirty dollars ($30.00) and not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00). Each day shall constitute a separate violation.
